I Let Go

I let go
of the one hand that I have held so tightly; And he flew - across oceans to fields - with dreams spread wide.

I let go
of past hurts that were still taking up residence; Healing has come to have His way now.

I let go
of my expectations; That doesn't mean I don't have them. It just means that they don't have me!

I let go
of panic; It simply died when I stopped feeding it.

I let go
of paralyzing fear; But first, I choked the life out of it with both hands!

I let go
of the plans I'd made; After all, it's My Lord that calls those shots.

I let go
of avoidance; Instead, I opened my heart to it and Love swallowed it alive!

I let go
of trying; And simply did.

I let go
of the what-ifs; And turned them into "let's just see."

I let go
of tomorrow, and all of the tomorrows that belong to it; Then I found its' shadow.

I let go
of that list that I forgot I'd even written;  It's already alive and knocking!

I let go
of the box that held my ideas; And set free into open space.

I let go
of the need to know; And passionately embraced the free-fall of Faith.

I let go
and He found me....

again!

  1. I just realized that I didn't comment on this. One of the greatest struggles in my life is to "let go." I will keep this close and re-read as a reminder of the possibilities and experiences that present themselves when I choose to "let go." Thank you.
