choking on assumptions

Feeling around in the darkness for the light switch so that she can lay her eyes on the beautiful mess she's backed into .... she stumbles over an old book; The Four Agreements. Without getting into all the juicy details of the treasure chest of Toltec wisdom, one agreement really reaches up and grabs her by the throat! "Don't Make Assumptions." Too late! She's already headed down that winding path at full throttle! The internal conflict that's created from making assumptions can be quite maddening; Not to mention the relationship friction it creates when she realizes that other people don't necessarily know what she's assuming the case to be!  She calls it, "being trapped in her head." And that's exactly what it is! The antidote? Pop a few good question pills and swallow hard! Then open your mouth and ASK for clarification based on reality.  You've got to be brave to ask the hard questions sometimes.... or in her case, even some of the easy questions tend to paralyze her vocal cords. She's going to have to dig out that "Courageous" card that she's hidden away somewhere. Deciding where to start, she looks around the room and notices a hissing glow off in the far corner of the room. Shaking her head, she realizes that she left the blow-torch on and something might actually be burning... again!
